        Club Profile

We are a running club that welcomes runners of ALL ages and abilities

Alton Runners are affiliated to UKA, Hampshire AAA, and the SEAA

We organise the Alton 10 Mile Road Race a BARR grade 1 event held in May each year

We organise the Multi-terrain Downland Challenge, a 10K and 5K event held in October each year

We field a team in the Hampshire Cross Country League.

We support the Today's Runner Cross Country Series run monthly from October to March

Some of our members are very keen road racing competitors running marathons, half marathons and other road races in the Hampshire Road Race league

Other members take part in Fell running, Trail running and multi terrain events

All of our members love to run along the paths, through the woods and fields across the local countryside around Alton and keep fit in that way

Our headquarters is the Alton Sports Centre and Alton Runners enjoy ABC membership of the Sports Centre

Training

We train off road in the summer months and in the winter months we train out on the roads.

We meet every TUESDAY and THURSDAY at 07:00 pm.

In the SUMMER we meet on the JUBILEE PLAYING FIELDS (at the Sports Centre end).
In the WINTER we meet in the entrance foyer of the ALTON SPORTS CENTRE.

Juniors:  meet on the JUBILEE PLAYING FIELDS, in the SUMMER months on THURSDAY evening starting at 05:15 pm and in the WINTER months on SATURDAY morning starting at 10:00 am.

On SUNDAY mornings we meet in the SPORTS CENTRE Lower Car Park at 09:30am for a social/long run. In hot weather we may go out earlier.

For those wishing to meet up with Alton Runners the ideal time would be just prior to one of the training sessions.  Or contact Roger Sayer on 01420-84526.
